Step on board Bolette for this nine-night French and Spanish city discovery and you’ll unravel the rewards of some of Europe’s most beautiful, culture rich regions. In northern Spain, you’re in for incredible scenery, history and flavours during time in stunning cities, while in France, you’ve chances to explore historic, attraction-packed cities in two gorgeous regions too.

Straying away from the ‘beaten track’, you’ll spend three days of your holiday discovering Spain’s more authentic side, visiting cities in the picturesque regions of Galicia, Asturias and Cantabria. [ReadMoreMob]Santander, situated on the gorgeous Cantabrian coast amongst breathtaking beaches and mountains, is the gateway to a replica of the UNESCO-listed Altamira Caves, renowned for their fascinating prehistoric paintings. In the pretty Asturian city of Avilés, which is within reach on tour from Gijon, a number of highlights and attractions, including the world-famous Óscar Niemeyer International Centre and the architectural treasures of the Old Town. You’ll find traditional siderias and pastry shops too, offering a ‘real taste’ of Asturias. Many Galician gems also await in La Coruña, where your smaller-ship will once again take you closer to the heart of this historic city and its impressive landmarks, such as the Baroque-style Cornide Palace and ancient Torre de Hercules. Further afield, the spectacular Santiago de Compostela is also within reach on tour from La Coruña. [ReadMoreDesk]

In France, a visit to the beautiful Normandy region includes a call at Honfleur, situated at the mouth of the River Seine. You’re afforded an opportunity to wander down the city’s charming, 16th century cobbled streets in search of highlights such as St Catherine’ Church; and explore the historic Vieux Bassin district, with it’s colourful, towering buildings and pretty fishing harbour. For the pièce de résistance, Bolette takes you along the Gironde and Garonne rivers to Bassens, your gateway to Bordeaux. Take the short journey into ‘Pearl D'Aquitaine’ and immerse yourself in Bordeaux’s rich history and wine heritage, at sites such as Cathédrale Saint-André, the Grand Théâtre and the Cité du Vin wine museum. Alternatively, for an in-depth insight into famous wine culture, visit a small family run vineyard, to learn about producing the legendary local tipples, and taste them at source too.

While Bolette is one of the largest ships, by overall size, in our fleet, she still has capacity for less than 1,400 guests. So on board you’ll find you have more space in which to relax, in public areas such as the all-season pool and the beautiful two-tiered entertainment theatre, and enjoy a premium level of comfort – as well as our renowned personal service – in the elegant lounges, bars and dining venues.
With its warm, welcoming atmosphere and timeless style, and classic open deck spaces providing a place to fully immerse yourself in the magic of ocean cruising, Bolette is very much in keeping with what our guests have come to expect from a Fred. Olsen ship.
Bringing the world closer

Our size advantage means we can take you to places that some of the larger cruise vessels simply can’t. We dock close to the heart of some of the world’s most beautiful cities and can take you on scenic cruising adventures showcasing inspirational landscapes. Our itineraries are expertly crafted to make the most of this advantage.

Smaller but spacious

Aboard our smaller, friendlier ships you'll find there's plenty of room to stretch out by the pool, enjoy a drink and great conversation with like-minded guests, and make the most of your time away. Sailing with hundreds, not thousands, of others allows you to get ashore faster too, and make the most of each destination.
