Unforgettable sights and experiences appear at every turn, as Scandinavia presents the delights of its captivating capitals. Three attraction-packed Norwegian, Swedish and Danish cities await your exploration, with a plethora of artistic, aesthetic, historic and cultural highlights to discover. All this, and more, blends with hours of spellbinding scenic cruising too, to create an endlessly rewarding 11-night adventure.

Sailing first to Norway, Fred. Olsen’s beautiful homeland, a visit to Kristiansand makes for a perfect, relaxing start to your Scandinavian journey. [ReadMoreMob]Enjoy a leisurely glide into port, passing by rocky islands and islets, and then be charmed by the treasures ashore: Kristiansand is a gem to explore with its enchanting old town and elegant Renaissance-style architecture. Then it’s on to handsome Oslo, to begin your capital city discovery with the visual and cultural highlights of one of Europe’s most amenable cities. The Vigeland Sculpture Park, displaying over 200 works from Gustav Vigeland; the National Gallery, home of Edvard Munch’s The Scream; and the spectacular Opera House are high on the city’s must-see list, while the Akershus Fortress is also well worth a visit, for a fascinating insight into Oslo’s medieval heritage. Departing via the picturesque Oslofjord, you’ll leave Norway as you arrived, sailing peacefully by postcard-perfect, rugged scenery. [ReadMoreDesk]

Hours of spectacular scenic cruising ensures a memorable start to your time in Sweden too. En route to Swedish capital, Braemar navigates the Stockholm Archipelago’s sprawling network of craggy islands and islets, to showcase breathtaking, unspoilt scenes out of reach to larger ships. Once docked in Stockholm, you could take your pick of the fantastic museums, including the Skansen Open-air Museum and ABBA: The Museum; witness the changing of the guard at the Royal Palace in the historic Gamla Stan district; or even take to the city’s waters and see the sights from a different perspective on a boat tour. Finally, after another dose of the Stockholm Archipelago’s uncanny tranquillity and natural beauty, it’s on to Copenhagen. In the Danish capital, your smaller ship will dock within walking distance of many highlights, such as the Little Mermaid Statue and the colourful quayside of Nyhavn. Take the time to venture further and you’re in for plenty of rewards: the legendary Tivoli Gardens amusement park and impressive Christiansborg and Amalienborg palaces – symbolic of Copenhagen’s rich Royal heritage – are among the must-visit sites.

Bringing the world closer
Braemar in Bordeux, France

Our size advantage means we can take you to places that some of the larger cruise vessels simply can’t. We dock close to the heart of some of the world’s most beautiful cities and can take you on scenic cruising adventures showcasing inspirational landscapes. Our itineraries are expertly crafted to make the most of this advantage.

Aboard our smaller, friendlier ships you'll find there's plenty of room to stretch out by the pool, enjoy a drink and great conversation with like-minded guests, and make the most of your time away. Sailing with hundreds, not thousands, of others allows you to get ashore faster too, and make the most of each destination.

Each member of the Fred. Olsen team has been carefully selected for their warm and welcoming personalities. The quality of our people, supported by training and development, ensures they will give you a great holiday. In fact, 97% of guests rated Fred. Olsen’s friendly, attentive staff ‘Excellent’ or ‘Good’.

Elegant Braemar is the shortest of Fred. Olsen's four smaller, friendly ocean-going cruise ships, with dimensions perfect for cruising picturesque, size-restricted rivers and docking in the heart of fascinating towns and cities.

Like the rest of the fleet, Braemar assumes the welcoming feel and intimacy of a country house hotel, and a sense of timeless style and elegance flows through the ship's comfortable bars and lounges, restaurants and spacious accommodation for up to 929 guests.
