This particular cruise ensures that you will be perfectly placed to discover some of the world’s most iconic landmarks. Bolette will call into four ports across Egypt, offering plenty of opportunities to explore Egyptian landmarks, such as the Pyramids of Giza and the Sphinx from Port Said, while in Safaga you‘ll be able to explore the Valley of the Kings. From Mumbai, you could choose to embark on an overnight adventure to observe the world-renowned Taj Mahal at sunrise. Standing on the banks of the Yamuna River, this iconic monument dedicated to love is an architectural masterpiece and is one of the Seven Wonders of the World.
Uncover Historic Legacies & Ancient Civilisations
You’ll have the opportunity to discover historic legacies and ancient civilisations which called the regions you’re visiting home. When in Malta, take a shore tour to visit the gardens built by the Knights Templar. An unforgettable four-day adventure from Port Said to discover Cairo and Luxor will take you on an exploration of some of the most awe-inspiring wonders from Ancient Egypt which still exist today, or a day-trip from Safaga will give you the chance to follow in the footsteps of Howard Carter as you explore the Valley of the Kings. You’ll be joined on board by Egyptologist Illona Regulski, who will deliver insightful talks on Ancient Egyptian culture. In India, you can learn about the history and impact of the British Empire, and our call into Mormugão will allow you to discover the lasting Portugese legacy that can be found in Goa.
Experience Local Life
On this cruise, you’ll have the opportunity to visit a Moroccan Souk in Tangier, experience the hustle and bustle of a local Egyptian market, discover the ancient nomadic Bedouin culture in Jeddah, and explore the traditional Old Haffah Souq in Oman. Guest speakers Stuart and Sibella Laing, who have lived in Cairo, Jeddah and other cities across the Middle East, will be on board to share their experiences of daily life in these regions with you, as well as running basic Arabic workshops. In Mumbai, you can join a local Dabbawalla on their daily rounds and explore the esoteric code which ensures a seamless operation, or explore Dharavi, one of the largest slums in Asia known for its rich cultural tapestry and thriving informal economy. In Mangalore, discover Hindu by spending time with a local family and get a real taste for what everyday life is like in this region of India. Guest speaker Mark Nicolls, who has been a regular visitor to India for the past 30 years will deliver talks on local cultures and ways of life.

What do I pack for a cruise?
The handy checklist below has been created to assist in making sure you remember all the important things to pack for your cruise.
Are there any visa requirements I need to be aware of?
Visa and health requirements can change at any time. It is your own responsibility to ensure that you check with a professionally qualified source and comply with such requirements. UK passport holders will need visas for certain Fred. Olsen cruise holidays and will advised at the time of booking. Your cruise booking information will also detail any requirements applicable to your holiday.
What's the difference between Freedom and Saver fares?
On certain sailings we offer two types of cruise fares; Freedom and Saver Fares.
I'm travelling alone, how will I get to meet people?
Our single guests feel right at home on board our ships; Fred. Olsen have the reputation of sailing the friendliest fleet afloat.
How do I get off the ship if we're at anchor?
Disembarking when your ship's at anchor is a very different experience to when it's docked portside. Getting ashore in this instance often involves the use of the ship's tender, which is accessed via the steps of a secure gangway.
