An epic, exhilarating discovery of Norway’s astonishing Arctic north will captivate, inspire and provide spellbinding, simply unforgettable experiences throughout. At the ‘top of Europe’, the iconic North Cape plateau is within reach from Honningsvåg, for a magical exploration of unspoilt, rugged landscapes; while witnessing the eerie midnight sun phenomenon is something to remember forever. You also head to Tromsø – the capital of the north – for chances to visit the Arctic Cathedral, or even encounter curious huskies; take in rarely visited Hammerfest; and get closer to Harstad, hidden away on pretty Hinnøya.

Elsewhere, en route to and from northern Norway, the wonders of the fjordland await, as Braemar diverts into spectacular waterways. Feel as you can touch the soaring mountains framing the remarkably narrow Trollfjord, while your small ship navigates its glassy waters; revel in the awe-inspiring scenery of Nærøysundet and Romsdalfjord; and marvel at the Torghatten ‘mountain with the hole’ and the striking Seven Sisters. You can take your adventures ashore in Ålesund, to see a renowned collection of art-nouveau towers and turrets, steeples and spires, or climb Mount Aksla for unspoilt views of the town and the surrounding islands and islets; and discover the incredible Atlantic Road from Kristiansund too.

Braemar is the shortest of Fred. Olsen's four smaller, friendly ocean-going cruise ships, with dimensions perfect for cruising picturesque, size-restricted rivers and docking in the heart of fascinating towns and cities.

Like the rest of the fleet, Braemar assumes the welcoming feel and intimacy of a country house hotel, and a sense of timeless style and elegance flows through the ship's comfortable bars and lounges, restaurants and spacious accommodation for up to 929 guests.

Bringing the world closer

Our size advantage means we can take you to places that some of the larger cruise vessels simply can’t. We dock close to the heart of some of the world’s most beautiful cities and can take you on scenic cruising adventures showcasing inspirational landscapes. Our itineraries are expertly crafted to make the most of this advantage.

Smaller but spacious

Aboard our smaller, friendlier ships you'll find there's plenty of room to stretch out by the pool, enjoy a drink and great conversation with like-minded guests, and make the most of your time away. Sailing with hundreds, not thousands, of others allows you to get ashore faster too, and make the most of each destination.
