From on board smaller ship Bolette and during time ashore in the region’s cliff-perched towns, you’ll get to experience the beauty, history and unique charm of Italy’s beautiful Amalfi Coast.[ReadMoreMob] Spend time in Amalfi Town, wandering its ancient narrow streets and admiring the fine architecture on display, from the Arab-Romanesque style Cattedrale di Sant’Andrea to the Moorish-style Cloister of Paradise; or perhaps take a trip to nearby Atrani Town to relax on the quiet little beach. In Sorrento, see sights such as St. Francis Monastery and the Basilica di Sant’Antonino as you explore, and catch views of Naples and Mount Vesuvius. Sorrento is the ideal starting point for tours to the UNESCO-listed towns of Herculaneum and Pompei, famously destroyed by the eruption of Vesuvius in AD79, too.

Where the Amalfi Coast and Cilento National Park meet, you’ll also visit Salerno. With its medieval churches, castles and terraced gardens, the town offers an insight into the region’s rich Roman heritage. What’s more, as you arrive at and depart from each destination on the Amalfi Coast, you’ll take in unspoilt views of its rugged cliffs, peaks and pretty beaches. In addition to your Italian highlights, there’s a visit to the French island of Corsica, where you could opt for a tour to Bonifacio, with its ancient old town, citadel and scenic clifftop landscapes to explore. Sample the laidback island lifestyle of Menorca too and, on the Spanish mainland, enjoy discovering the historic sites and traditional delights of Vigo and Cádiz.

While Bolette is one of the largest ships, by overall size, in our fleet, she still has capacity for less than 1,400 guests. So on board you’ll find you have more space in which to relax, in public areas such as the all-season pool and the beautiful two-tiered entertainment theatre, and enjoy a premium level of comfort – as well as our renowned personal service – in the elegant lounges, bars and dining venues.
With its warm, welcoming atmosphere and timeless style, and classic open deck spaces providing a place to fully immerse yourself in the magic of ocean cruising, Bolette is very much in keeping with what our guests have come to expect from a Fred. Olsen ship.

In recent years, we have seen a new era emerging in cruising.

There is a trend for everything to get bigger and busier, and for a cruise to be seen as an alternative to a large luxury resort, with a limitless flurry of activity. But this is not for us. Find out more

We are free to do things a different way because we are family-run. Of course some people enjoy the bigger, busier cruises, but it is not for everyone, and it is not for us. We prefer to do things, 'The Olsen Way'.

We have fewer guests, so the atmosphere on board our ships is always warm and civilised. Our smaller ships allow us to visit the more interesting places that the world has to offer.

We pride ourselves on putting our all into the Fred. Olsen cruise experience. Our itineraries are created from scratch every year, our service is genuinely personal and each and every area of our ships is designed by hand.
