A discovery of two Danish cities and their many delights, including magical festive sights and highlights, makes for the perfect pre-Christmas break.[ReadMoreMob] Visiting Copenhagen at Christmas, when Denmark’s capital is resplendent with lights, decoration and traditional festivities, will be a real joy. At the legendary Tivoli Gardens you’ll find a charming Christmas market, packed with stalls offering everything from Nordic handicrafts to local delicacies, such as gløgg wine and æbleskiver apple pancakes. The fairy light-draped pedestrianised streets of Strøget and the Christiansborg and Amalienborg palaces, illuminated at night, are unmissable too.

Bolette will then take you to Aalborg, for a chance to feel the warmth, friendliness and festive excitement of a city once voted ‘Europe’s happiest’. When your smaller ship docks alongside the famous Utzon Centre, you’ll be invited to enjoy a complementary Danish hotdogs on the quayside, as part of the traditional welcome to the city. When you explore Aalborg, the sites to seek out include the 14th century cathedral and Aalborghus Castle, as well as a selection of galleries, museums and friendly pubs. Of course, there will be delightfully Danish Christmas markets to visit and experience too.

Bringing the world closer

Our size advantage means we can take you to places that some of the larger cruise vessels simply can’t. We dock close to the heart of some of the world’s most beautiful cities and can take you on scenic cruising adventures showcasing inspirational landscapes. Our itineraries are expertly crafted to make the most of this advantage.

Smaller but spacious

Aboard our smaller, friendlier ships you'll find there's plenty of room to stretch out by the pool, enjoy a drink and great conversation with like-minded guests, and make the most of your time away. Sailing with hundreds, not thousands, of others allows you to get ashore faster too, and make the most of each destination.

Each member of the Fred. Olsen team has been carefully selected for their warm and welcoming personalities. The quality of our people, supported by training and development, ensures they will give you a great holiday. In fact, 97% of guests rated Fred. Olsen’s friendly, attentive staff ‘Excellent’ or ‘Good’.

While Bolette is one of the largest ships, by overall size, in our fleet, she still has capacity for less than 1,400 guests. So on board you’ll find you have more space in which to relax, in public areas such as the all-season pool and the beautiful two-tiered entertainment theatre, and enjoy a premium level of comfort – as well as our renowned personal service – in the elegant lounges, bars and dining venues.

With its warm, welcoming atmosphere and timeless style, and classic open deck spaces providing a place to fully immerse yourself in the magic of ocean cruising, Bolette is very much in keeping with what our guests have come to expect from a Fred. Olsen ship.
