On this immersive exploration of the Baltic you’ll experience the very best of this captivating region, as Braemar takes you closer to the heart of five diverse, distinctly different destinations in Denmark, Finland, Russia and Germany to uncover an extensive list of extraordinary sights and attractions.

In Copenhagen, a whole host of highlights will be within easy reach of your smaller ship’s convenient docking location near the centre of the cosmopolitan Danish capital. Simply head ashore and explore; the iconic Little Mermaid statue, pretty Nyhavn waterfront district and the world-famous Tivoli Gardens are just a few of delights close-by. Don’t miss the impressive Amalienborg and Christiansborg palaces, with their rich Royal heritage, too. Then it’s on to Finland for a day in another enticing capital, Helsinki. This vibrant seaside city is easily explored on foot and, with Braemar once again bringing you closer to the heart of the action, your day here is sure to be rewarding. You can head to iconic Senate Square, the centrepiece of Helsinki; admire the collection of ornate art-nouveau architecture; take your pick of fantastic galleries and museums; and visit the intriguing ‘Chapel of Silence’. You can even treat yourself to an authentic Finnish sauna experience. [ReadMore]

Your unforgettable Baltic exploration continues in Russia, with your ship sailing into stunning St Petersburg via the picturesque River Neva. The sight of legendary golden domes and magnificent architecture will offer a taste of what to expect during your overnight stay in the ‘Jewel in the Baltic’s Crown’. Once docked, a fascinating guided tour is the best way to take-in the city’s ‘must-visit’ landmarks, such as Peterhof Palace and the Church of Our Saviour on the Spilled Blood. You could stop-by the remarkable Hermitage; savour the sight of St. Isaacs Cathedral; and even enjoy a magical evening at the Russian ballet, too. From Russia you’ll return to Denmark and the beautiful island of Bornholm. Here you’ll have a day to explore the charming cobbled streets of Rønne, with it’s half-timbered houses and pretty churches; or alternatively, tour to the quaint fishing town of Gudhjem or the dramatic ruins of Hammershus Slot. The fifth and final Baltic gem on your itinerary is Travemünde, where Braemar docks mere steps away traditional German shops, markets and cafés. Enjoy a relaxing day here, or perhaps take a tour to UNESCO-listed Lübeck, before embarking on memorable cruise of the size-restricted Kiel Canal.

Refurbished in 2017, elegant Braemar is the shortest of Fred. Olsen's four smaller, friendly ocean-going cruise ships, with dimensions perfect for cruising picturesque, size-restricted rivers and docking in the heart of fascinating towns and cities.

Like the rest of the fleet, Braemar assumes the welcoming feel and intimacy of a country house hotel, and a sense of timeless style and elegance flows through the ship's comfortable bars and lounges, restaurants and spacious accommodation for up to 929 guests.

Real ships
We don’t have boastful megaships. We take immense pride in our fleet of smaller-scaled vessels that retain the style, ambience and understated quality of a country house hotel.  We ensure they remain contemporary too: from winter 2016 to spring 2018 the whole fleet underwent dry dock refits to further enhance the facilities for guests. With the fifth generation Fred. Olsen as Chairman and 170 years of seafaring heritage behind us, we believe we’ve found the perfect formula for you to get the best out of your holiday with us.

Smaller but spacious
A smaller ship doesn’t mean less space; far from it. Each room is comfortably sized, with all that you’ll need to enjoy your holiday. In fact, our rooms are comparable to those on some of the mammoth cruise ships. While our vessels are on a more accessible scale, you can have just as much private space.  With fewer people on board it’s easy to find a quiet spot to relax in peace with a drink or a good book. There’s room to stretch out by the pool and you can get ashore more quickly too. And when you’re ashore, you’re seeing the best of each port of call with hundreds – not thousands – of others, giving you a much more authentic experience.

Service with a smile
Each member of the Fred. Olsen team has been carefully selected for their warm and welcoming personalities. The quality of our people, supported by training and development, ensures they will give you a great holiday: in guest feedback our staff are always the most highly-rated aspect of the whole experience.
