Your time in France’s beautiful Normandy region will be spent taking in captivating cities and enchanting countryside scenes on the River Seine. Stopping at Honfleur, situated at the mouth of the Seine, affords you an opportunity to wander down the city’s charming, 16th century cobbled streets in search of highlights such as St Catherine’ Church; and explore the historic Vieux Bassin district, with it’s colourful, towering buildings and pretty fishing harbour. Further inland, enjoy an extended stay in Rouen – Normandy’s regional capital – too. Take time to delve deep into French history at Place du Vieux Marché, where Joan of Arc was burned at the stake; relax with a coffee at one of the friendly cafés in the historic centre; and visit the spectacular Gothic cathedral. Alternatively, you may opt to tour to Claude Monet’s beautiful house and gardens; or even head to Paris on a romantic evening trip, to stroll the Champs-Élysées, see famous landmarks such as the Arc de Triomphe and the iconic Eiffel Tower, and capture the French’s capital’s unmistakable culture. Upon departure from Rouen, Black Watch will take you back along the Seine, passing green fields, rolling valleys and the pointed spires of quaint waterside villages, for a memorable end to your holiday.

Black Watch is the ultimate home-from-home at sea: spacious with a friendly, familiar feel and providing a traditional cruise experience. Refurbished at the end of 2016, the 804-guest Black Watch features stylish new décor, fittings and furniture, plus the new Black Watch Room restaurant.

What's more, new soft furnishing, smart TVs and mini-bars enhance the accommodation on board, while the cinema has been upgraded too. Despite all these new features, Black Watch still retains her sleek, intimate style and has a welcoming ambience - just like the rest of the Fred. Olsen fleet.

Real ships
We don’t have boastful megaships. We take immense pride in our fleet of smaller-scaled vessels that retain the style, ambience and understated quality of a country house hotel.  We ensure they remain contemporary too: from winter 2016 to spring 2018 the whole fleet underwent dry dock refits to further enhance the facilities for guests. With the fifth generation Fred. Olsen as Chairman and 170 years of seafaring heritage behind us, we believe we’ve found the perfect formula for you to get the best out of your holiday with us.

Smaller but spacious
A smaller ship doesn’t mean less space; far from it. Each room is comfortably sized, with all that you’ll need to enjoy your holiday. In fact, our rooms are comparable to those on some of the mammoth cruise ships. While our vessels are on a more accessible scale, you can have just as much private space.  With fewer people on board it’s easy to find a quiet spot to relax in peace with a drink or a good book. There’s room to stretch out by the pool and you can get ashore more quickly too. And when you’re ashore, you’re seeing the best of each port of call with hundreds – not thousands – of others, giving you a much more authentic experience.

Service with a smile
Each member of the Fred. Olsen team has been carefully selected for their warm and welcoming personalities. The quality of our people, supported by training and development, ensures they will give you a great holiday: in guest feedback our staff are always the most highly-rated aspect of the whole experience.
