Leixoes will be your gateway to Oporto – Portugal’s picturesque second city – which is home to world-famous port wine cellars and an array of magnificent architecture. Don’t miss the Baroque style Clérigos Church and the fortress-like cathedral; and be sure to visit the historic, UNESCO-listed Ribeira District. Then in Malaga you’ll have time to discover the diverse attractions of this Andalusian gem, including the Moorish-style Gibralfaro Castle and the fantastic Picasso Museum; or tour to Granada to see the glorious Alhambra Palace. Alternatively you could go in search of some Spanish sunshine in nearby Marbella. From southern Spain you’ll sail to Morocco to take in the famous sights of charming Casablanca. An undoubted highlight is the Hassan II Mosque, with its soaring 210 metre-high minaret; while the chance to enjoy lunch at Rick’s Café – a recreation of the bar in the classic Casablanca film – is not to be missed. Returning to Spain, Balmoral will then dock in historic Cádiz alongside Braemar, Boudicca and Black Watch for the ‘Captains in Cádiz’ event, marking the 170th anniversary of Fred. See our entire fleet together for only the second time ever and enjoy a memorable day of themed entertainment, food and fun on board and on the quayside with our Captains, crews and your fellow guests – a simply unforgettable experience. Next you’ll head back to Portugal and the beautiful capital, Lisbon. Explore on foot or perhaps via the iconic tram and you’ll discover architectural wonders such at the Belém Tower and Jerónimos Monastery, as well as a number of lovely backstreet cafés. As this spellbinding sailing draws to an end, you’ll then take in two more fantastic Spanish cities. Wander through the delightful old town district in Vigo, or tour to the UNESCO-listed Santiago de Compostela Cathedral; then explore the fascinating seafaring history of pretty El Ferrol.
