Meet Braemar in Barbados in early spring and take advantage of the final chance to enjoy the sunshine and scenery of the Caribbean with Fred. Olsen in the 2018/19 cruise season. Discover the delights of four wonderful West Indian islands then cross the Atlantic for home, stopping in the Azores and Spain en route.

Your Caribbean exploration begins in Barbados’ beautiful capital, Bridgetown. Before setting sail discover the very best of this British-influenced island, with chances to sample the laid-back lifestyle in the city; or uncover a host of awe-inspiring sights and experiences. You could opt to explore the crystallised limestone cavern of Harrison’s Cave; visit Hunte’s Gardens and savour the sweet scents of the rare, exotic plants; or even embark on a catamaran tour in search of sea turtles. Then it’s on to St John’s, the capital of Antigua – a spectacular island boasting 365 glorious beaches. You won’t have be able to discover every stretch of gorgeous golden sand here, however you will have plenty of time to relax and soak up the sunshine on some of the island’s best beaches if you wish. Alternatively you could instead choose to explore the busy market in St John’s; or discover some of the island’s other highlights including the Shirley Heights lookout, Nelson’s Dockyard and the English harbour. Your island hopping adventure continues in Tortola, where you can delve into the island’s fascinating pirate-influenced past on a scenic boat cruise and safari bus tour; or even go swimming with dolphins – a simply unforgettable, once-in-a-lifetime experience. Road Town is also home to the world famous Pussers Bar, the perfect place to relax with a glass or two of authentic Caribbean rum; and the Sunday Morning Well, the site where the Emancipation Proclamation was read in 1834. Basseterre, the capital of St Kitts, is your final Caribbean call. Here you can bask in the beauty of the botanical gardens, people watch at Independence Square, or end your time in the Caribbean in style with a ride on the incredible St Kitts Scenic Railway. Although the call into Basseterre brings your Caribbean exploration to a conclusion, your cruise doesn’t end just yet. En route to Southampton you’ll stop-off in the emerald-green Azores to discover the captivating crater lakes and hot springs of São Miguel Island; and sail to Spain to uncover the historic highlights of La Coruña.

Single supplement offers are available on selected grades on this sailing, please call for details.

Refurbished in 2017, elegant Braemar is the shortest of Fred. Olsen's four smaller, friendly ocean-going cruise ships, with dimensions perfect for cruising picturesque, size-restricted rivers and docking in the heart of fascinating towns and cities.

Like the rest of the fleet, Braemar assumes the welcoming feel and intimacy of a country house hotel, and a sense of timeless style and elegance flows through the ship's comfortable bars and lounges, restaurants and spacious accommodation for up to 929 guests.

Real ships
We don’t have boastful megaships. We take immense pride in our fleet of smaller-scaled vessels that retain the style, ambience and understated quality of a country house hotel.  We ensure they remain contemporary too: from winter 2016 to spring 2018 the whole fleet underwent dry dock refits to further enhance the facilities for guests. With the fifth generation Fred. Olsen as Chairman and 170 years of seafaring heritage behind us, we believe we’ve found the perfect formula for you to get the best out of your holiday with us.

Smaller but spacious
A smaller ship doesn’t mean less space; far from it. Each room is comfortably sized, with all that you’ll need to enjoy your holiday. In fact, our rooms are comparable to those on some of the mammoth cruise ships. While our vessels are on a more accessible scale, you can have just as much private space.  With fewer people on board it’s easy to find a quiet spot to relax in peace with a drink or a good book. There’s room to stretch out by the pool and you can get ashore more quickly too. And when you’re ashore, you’re seeing the best of each port of call with hundreds – not thousands – of others, giving you a much more authentic experience.

Service with a smile
Each member of the Fred. Olsen team has been carefully selected for their warm and welcoming personalities. The quality of our people, supported by training and development, ensures they will give you a great holiday: in guest feedback our staff are always the most highly-rated aspect of the whole experience.
