An unforgettable four weeks of Caribbean exploration, this very special cruise offers you the chance to swap the cold and wet winter weather back home for the sun, sea and sands of stunning islands and celebrate Christmas and New Year’s Eve like never before, all on one incredible holiday.

A collection of the Caribbean’s most spectacular destinations combine on this 28-night itinerary, presenting an abundance of authentic sights and experiences. Visiting Castries puts you within reach of St Lucia’s stunning attractions, such as the soaring Twin Pitons and bubbling Soufrière Volcano; and two calls at Grenada affords opportunities to explore Grand Etang National Park, or perhaps enjoy a ride on the legendary Rhum Runner boat. You could also tour to one of Grenada’s beautiful cocoa plantations for an interesting insight into the life of the island’s traditional farmers. For a taste of the Caribbean’s European flavours, Braemar brings you to Dutch-influenced islands of Curacao, to admire the colonial architecture of UNESCO-listed Willemstad, and Bonaire. There’s even a chance to delve into famous pirate history of Tortola; taking a scenic boat tour, followed by an exciting open-top safari bus adventure, is an unforgettable way to uncover the island’s variety of myths and legends. Diverting to Grand Turk twice affords two opportunities to make the most the island’s glorious sunshine on white-sand beaches, bathe in crystal-clear waters and even snorkel colourful tropical reefs. You’ll also enjoy two calls St Kitts, where the undoubted highlight is the island’s world-famous scenic railway, passing typically-Caribbean scenes of old sugar mills, windmills and more. Arriving in Antigua, you’re sure to be tempted ashore by promises of historic landmarks, such as Nelson’s Dockyard, and over 365 beautiful beaches to choose from. Visiting Dominica presents you with a very special, highly rewarding opportunity to contribute to the island’s post-hurricane recovery and help the friendly locals restore stunning hiking trails. To top-it-all-off, you’ll also enjoy a magical Christmas Day with all the trimmings at sea; and see-out 2018 in real style in St Maarten, where you can welcome the New Year with a rousing fireworks display – an event you’ll never forget.

Refurbished in 2017, elegant Braemar is the shortest of Fred. Olsen's four smaller, friendly ocean-going cruise ships, with dimensions perfect for cruising picturesque, size-restricted rivers and docking in the heart of fascinating towns and cities.

Like the rest of the fleet, Braemar assumes the welcoming feel and intimacy of a country house hotel, and a sense of timeless style and elegance flows through the ship's comfortable bars and lounges, restaurants and spacious accommodation for up to 929 guests.

Real ships
We don’t have boastful megaships. We take immense pride in our fleet of smaller-scaled vessels that retain the style, ambience and understated quality of a country house hotel.  We ensure they remain contemporary too: from winter 2016 to spring 2018 the whole fleet underwent dry dock refits to further enhance the facilities for guests. With the fifth generation Fred. Olsen as Chairman and 170 years of seafaring heritage behind us, we believe we’ve found the perfect formula for you to get the best out of your holiday with us.

Smaller but spacious
A smaller ship doesn’t mean less space; far from it. Each room is comfortably sized, with all that you’ll need to enjoy your holiday. In fact, our rooms are comparable to those on some of the mammoth cruise ships. While our vessels are on a more accessible scale, you can have just as much private space.  With fewer people on board it’s easy to find a quiet spot to relax in peace with a drink or a good book. There’s room to stretch out by the pool and you can get ashore more quickly too. And when you’re ashore, you’re seeing the best of each port of call with hundreds – not thousands – of others, giving you a much more authentic experience.

Service with a smile
Each member of the Fred. Olsen team has been carefully selected for their warm and welcoming personalities. The quality of our people, supported by training and development, ensures they will give you a great holiday: in guest feedback our staff are always the most highly-rated aspect of the whole experience.
