Visiting five stunning cities in five different countries, you have a chance to delve deep into the remarkable ancient history and breathtaking beauty of the Black Sea. Discover world-famous landmarks and historical sites; taste authentic flavours; immerse yourself in the scenery and tranquillity of beautiful waterways; and more.

There’s time in unmistakable Istanbul, to step back to the days of Ottoman rule at the glittering Topkapi Palace and fascinating Hagia Sofia, the former Ottoman imperial mosque; marvel at the mighty Blue Mosque; sample traditional Turkish delight and sweet Baklava; and experience the hustle and bustle of the Grand Bazaar. [ReadMoreMob]Stopping at Sochi allows you to visit a Russian tea plantation on tour, to taste the local brew and see how it’s harvested; while Batumi is your gateway to subtropical botanical gardens, [ReadMoreDesk]national parks featuring Gonio Roman fortifications and some of Georgia’s spectacular wine valleys and vineyards. A visit to Odessa affords an opportunity to revel in the western European-influenced architecture, culture and art of the Ukraine’s ‘Pearl of the Black Sea’, and explore the labyrinth-like Catacombs – a tangle of rocky underground corridors dating back to the 1600s. For a magical end to your Black Sea discovery, perhaps you’ll opt for a boat tour of Romania’s Danube Delta, a bird haven of peaceful marshlands and waterways, from Constanta.

If that wasn’t enough, you’ll get to experience the best of the Mediterranean on this incredible 28-night adventure too. Boudicca will take you to Gibraltar for a chance to indulge in some duty-free shopping and enjoy grandstand views from the ‘rock’; and sail into the magnificent Grand Harbour of Valletta – the 16th century walled capital of Malta – where a treasure chest of Baroque architectural gems awaits. Ancient Greek wonders will also reveal themselves, during visits to Piraeus and Katakolon. Piraeus is your starting point for exploring engrossing Athens, home of legendary ruins and temples such as the 2,500-year-old Parthenon and Agias Apostoli, while Olympia – the home of the Olympic Games – is within reach on tour from Katakolon. There’s also time to enjoy on Spanish shores, with visits to the sun-kissed Menorcan city of Mahon and Cádiz, another ancient Mediterranean delight boasting fine, centuries-old architecture and landmarks, as well traditional tapas bars serving authentic local treats. What’s more, to complement your time ashore to explore, your smaller ship will also guide you through narrow straits and passages, including the Darnanelles and Bosphorus, for hours of unforgettable scenic cruising too.

Real ships
We don’t have boastful megaships. We take immense pride in our fleet of smaller-scaled vessels that retain the style, ambience and understated quality of a country house hotel.  We ensure they remain contemporary too: from winter 2016 to spring 2018 the whole fleet underwent dry dock refits to further enhance the facilities for guests. With the fifth generation Fred. Olsen as Chairman and 170 years of seafaring heritage behind us, we believe we’ve found the perfect formula for you to get the best out of your holiday with us.

Smaller but spacious
A smaller ship doesn’t mean less space; far from it. Each room is comfortably sized, with all that you’ll need to enjoy your holiday. In fact, our rooms are comparable to those on some of the mammoth cruise ships. While our vessels are on a more accessible scale, you can have just as much private space.  With fewer people on board it’s easy to find a quiet spot to relax in peace with a drink or a good book. There’s room to stretch out by the pool and you can get ashore more quickly too. And when you’re ashore, you’re seeing the best of each port of call with hundreds – not thousands – of others, giving you a much more authentic experience.

Service with a smile
Each member of the Fred. Olsen team has been carefully selected for their warm and welcoming personalities. The quality of our people, supported by training and development, ensures they will give you a great holiday: in guest feedback our staff are always the most highly-rated aspect of the whole experience.

Named after the British warrior Queen, Boudicca has built up a loyal following, combining style and space with the renowned personal Fred. Olsen service. Up to 880 guests can sail in comfort on board Boudicca, enjoying the welcoming, home-from-home ambience, ample space and fantastic restaurants, lounges, bars and facilities of a smaller, friendly ocean-going cruise ship.
