Join Black Watch in beautiful Barbados and embark on an epic journey between some of the most captivating regions and countries on earth for the chance to discover iconic landmarks; marvel at breathtaking natural wonders and fascinating wildlife; experience diverse cultures and world-famous events; and much more, all on one magical cruise holiday.

The starting point for this incredible voyage is Bridgetown. After settling in on board your ship you’ll set sail to the gorgeous island of Bonaire, before continuing onwards to Central and South America to discover the Hispanic highlights of Cartagena de Indias, Colombia; cruise along the impressive Panama Canal; and call into Puntarenas and Puerto Caldera in Costa Rica. All that is before you head across the Pacific towards Australia. En route you’ll visit a string of spectacular South Pacific Islands to marvel at the volcanic landscapes of Nuku Hiva and Rangiroa; sample pure bliss on Tahiti and Bora-Bora; and revel in the unspoilt beauty of Mystery Island. An abundance of amazing experiences will then await you in ‘the land down under’. You will have opportunities to soak-up all of the festive excitement in Sydney, where your call is timed to coincide with the city’s famous New Year’s celebrations; visit the awe-inspiring Great Barrier Reef from Cairns; and enjoy an authentic taste of aboriginal life on tour from Darwin.

The incredible diversity of Asia is then yours to experience to the full. You can compare the striking contrasts between a collection of diverse destinations, such as Indonesia’s Komodo Island – the natural habitat of the world’s largest lizards – and Singapore, a magnificent modern megalopolis of soaring skyscrapers, busy commercial quarters and impressive temples. Spending a day in fabulous Phuket, gateway to exotic Phang Nga Bay and James Bond Island, is the perfect way to prepare for calls into three vibrant Indian cities. From Kochi you could take an overland tour to the Taj Mahal; in Goa, explore the historic centres of Old Goa and the Latin Quarter; while an overnight stay in Mumbai affords time to immerse yourself in city’s renowned the hustle and bustle. From Asia it’s on to Arabia to sample the glitz and glamour of Dubai, home of the world’s tallest building; then go in search of wonders in Oman and Jordan. You could ride a traditional Dhow boat into the Musandam Fjords from Khasab; tour to historic Nizwa and the Nakhal Fort from Muscat; and uncover the ‘Lost Cities’ of Ubar and Petra – one of the Seven Wonders of the Modern World – from Salalah and Aqaba. Finally, after navigating the Suez Canal, your ship will journey through the Mediterranean, stopping at Kusadasi and Naples, your gateways to ancient Ephesus and UNESCO-listed Pompeii; pretty Gibraltar; and La Coruña, stopping point for tours to the Santiago de Compostela Cathedral.

Black Watch is the ultimate home-from-home at sea: spacious with a friendly, familiar feel and providing a traditional cruise experience. Refurbished at the end of 2016, the 804-guest Black Watch features stylish new décor, fittings and furniture, plus the new Black Watch Room restaurant.

What's more, new soft furnishing, smart TVs and mini-bars enhance the accommodation on board, while the cinema has been upgraded too. Despite all these new features, Black Watch still retains her sleek, intimate style and has a welcoming ambience - just like the rest of the Fred. Olsen fleet.

Real ships
We don’t have boastful megaships. We take immense pride in our fleet of smaller-scaled vessels that retain the style, ambience and understated quality of a country house hotel.  We ensure they remain contemporary too: from winter 2016 to spring 2018 the whole fleet underwent dry dock refits to further enhance the facilities for guests. With the fifth generation Fred. Olsen as Chairman and 170 years of seafaring heritage behind us, we believe we’ve found the perfect formula for you to get the best out of your holiday with us.

Smaller but spacious
A smaller ship doesn’t mean less space; far from it. Each room is comfortably sized, with all that you’ll need to enjoy your holiday. In fact, our rooms are comparable to those on some of the mammoth cruise ships. While our vessels are on a more accessible scale, you can have just as much private space.  With fewer people on board it’s easy to find a quiet spot to relax in peace with a drink or a good book. There’s room to stretch out by the pool and you can get ashore more quickly too. And when you’re ashore, you’re seeing the best of each port of call with hundreds – not thousands – of others, giving you a much more authentic experience.

Service with a smile
Each member of the Fred. Olsen team has been carefully selected for their warm and welcoming personalities. The quality of our people, supported by training and development, ensures they will give you a great holiday: in guest feedback our staff are always the most highly-rated aspect of the whole experience.
