[ReadMoreMob]Safaga is your gateway to the remarkable Valley of the Kings, and on tour, you can marvel at the ancient tombs and chambers of one of the world’s greatest archaeological treasures. Elsewhere in Egypt, you can uncover the Great Pyramids of Giza – the oldest ancient wonder on earth – on tour from Alexandra, while there’s a memorable navigation of the impressive Suez Canal too. In Jordan, the astonishing ‘Lost City’ of Petra awaits during a visit to Aqaba: journey to Petra, one of the new Seven Wonders of the World, to see huge tombs, archways and temples that were carved into the sandstone over 2,000 years ago. Your memorable journey through the Mediterranean begins with a visit to Cyprus, before a wonderful weekend in Greece offers chance to uncover a wealth of ancient wonders. You can delve into Crete’s over 5000-year-old history at fascinating sites such as the pre-historical Palace of Knossos and the Caves of Zeus; and visit Athens to uncover world-famous historic attractions including the ruins of the Acropolis and its temples, including the mighty Parthenon; the ancient Plaka district; and Agias Apostoli. Continuing on to Malta, Valletta will offer plenty of impressive sights too. The iconic, UNESCO-listed Grand Harbour is a sight to behold as you sail into port and ashore you’ll have time to seek-out architectural treasures such as St John’s Cathedral and the Presidential Palace. On the Spanish leg of your voyage, you’ll head to Mallorca – another picturesque Mediterranean island – for a chance to explore Palma’s pretty city centre or tour to the traditional village of Valledemossa; stop at Cartagena, with its medieval castle and preserved Roman sites; and visit Malaga, an Andalusian gem boasting diverse attractions such as Gibralfaro Castle and the Picasso Museum. Before finally heading home you’ll also make a call at the Portuguese port of Leixoes, for tours to the nearby Oporto – a city famed for its baroque architecture and port wine.

Real ships
We don’t have boastful megaships. We take immense pride in our fleet of smaller-scaled vessels that retain the style, ambience and understated quality of a country house hotel.  We ensure they remain contemporary too: from winter 2016 to spring 2018 the whole fleet underwent dry dock refits to further enhance the facilities for guests. With the fifth generation Fred. Olsen as Chairman and 170 years of seafaring heritage behind us, we believe we’ve found the perfect formula for you to get the best out of your holiday with us.

Smaller but spacious
A smaller ship doesn’t mean less space; far from it. Each room is comfortably sized, with all that you’ll need to enjoy your holiday. In fact, our rooms are comparable to those on some of the mammoth cruise ships. While our vessels are on a more accessible scale, you can have just as much private space.  With fewer people on board it’s easy to find a quiet spot to relax in peace with a drink or a good book. There’s room to stretch out by the pool and you can get ashore more quickly too. And when you’re ashore, you’re seeing the best of each port of call with hundreds – not thousands – of others, giving you a much more authentic experience.

Service with a smile
Each member of the Fred. Olsen team has been carefully selected for their warm and welcoming personalities. The quality of our people, supported by training and development, ensures they will give you a great holiday: in guest feedback our staff are always the most highly-rated aspect of the whole experience.

Named after the British warrior Queen, Boudicca has built up a loyal following, combining style and space with the renowned personal Fred. Olsen service. Up to 880 guests can sail in comfort on board Boudicca, enjoying the welcoming, home-from-home ambience, ample space and fantastic restaurants, lounges, bars and facilities of a smaller, friendly ocean-going cruise ship.
