What's new for 2018?

As well as sailing vast oceans to incredible destinations around the globe, Balmoral, Braemar, Black Watch and Boudicca – thanks to their compact dimensions – can sail size-restricted waterways and call into destinations out of reach of larger ships. With this in mind, the itineraries featured in the 2018/19 Worldwide cruise programme is sure to not disappoint.

There are Exotic Fly-cruises and Grand Voyages designed to ignite your inner explorer; awe-inspiring Norwegian fjord and arctic region adventures; chances to explore fascinating cities and sail beautiful waterways across Europe; an even greater choice of short breaks ideal for new-to-cruise guests; and much more. Every itinerary has been carefully planned by a team of experts to focus on the three main elements of a Fred. Olsen holiday: the destination exploration, the scenic sailing, and of course, the on-board experience.

See below for a few of the 2018/19 Worldwide programme highlights:

Norwegian Fjords
Fred. Olsen’s proud Norwegian heritage and extensive knowledge of the region ensures each fjord itinerary is a unique experience. Diverting off the ‘beaten track’ and into narrower, size-restricted fjords presents guests with a showcase of stunning natural beauty and allows them to get closer to thundering waterfalls, soaring cliffs and tiny villages hidden away in the fjordland.

Short breaks
Ideal for first-time cruisers, or those who want a short break away; there’s the opportunity to explore fine European cities, meander along French rivers, discover the scenic highlights of beautiful Scottish islands or even cruise along spectacular Norwegian Fjords, all in less than a week.

Further afield

Venture further afield and explore the exotic islands of the Indian Ocean, search for the ‘Big Five’ on a safari from Cape Town, discover Ancient Civilisations and Lost Cities, including Petra, one of the Seven Wonders of the Modern World, or relax on a glorious beach in the sun-kissed Caribbean.

Getting you closer
Smaller ships can get you to the heart of incredible destinations, docking much closer to the centre of fascinating cities such as Helsinki, Copenhagen and Riga. A particular highlight is Bordeaux, where the city centre starts at the end of the gangway! Celebrate New Year’s Eve in Sydney from the best possible vantage point, witnessing the world-famous fireworks above the Iconic Harbour Bridge.

Fred. Olsen’s new itineraries include:

  • Over 228 ports of call, across more than 135 cruises
  • 91 areas of scenic cruising
  • 13 maiden calls
  • More choice of shorter five-night ‘taster’ cruises
  • A brand new World Cruise visiting 35 destinations in 22 countries, including Sydney for New Year’s
  • The ‘Captains in Cadiz’ event, reuniting all four ships once again
  • The most extensive Fred. Olsen Fly-cruise programme ever
