After crossing Paul da Serra, we reach Porto Moniz – the most northwesterly point of the island and possibly the most spectacular – which is well known for its volcanic swimming pools.

Open safari buses then transport us on a five minute drive to the incredible baths – a formation of mammoth boulders resulting from volcanic eruptions over 70 million years ago, rounded and shaped by ocean waves and surrounded by pristine white sands.
