WATERFORD, IRELAND
Departing from the Viking City of Waterford, we will travel north to the neighbouring county of Kilkenny. Before arriving at Thomastown, a stop will be made for us to visit Jerpoint Abbey. Jerpoint is one of the finest monastic ruins in Ireland.

We will set off on our tour along County Waterford’s Atlantic coast via Dunmore East to Tramore. A seaside resort of Victorian vintage, Tramore (large beach in Gaelic) boasts delightful terraced houses overlooking a broad bay.

Our tour begins with a panoramic drive through Waterford, widely known as the ‘Crystal City’. We will drive along the quay, passing Reginald’s Tower – an ancient fortification erected in 1003 as part of the Danish Defences.

Departing from Cobh we shall travel towards the city of Cork. Before reaching the city, we will turn in a northerly direction through the towns of Fermoy and Mallow before entering the picturesque county that is Tipperary.

After a short drive through the rolling countryside we will arrive at the Imperial Hotel and commence our walking tour from here. Leaving the South Mall – one of the most gracious streets in the city – we will cross Parnell Bridge and stop for a while to enjoy the view.

This tour through takes us through Cork’s charming countryside and also visits the unique sailing town of Kinsale. Departing from Cobh we will travel via the Lee tunnel to Kinsale. En route we will have a photo stop at Charles Fort.

Leaving the city, we will travel eastwards to the village of Midleton, the place from which the famous Irish whiskey gets its name. A visit to the Jameson Heritage Centre and Old Jameson Distillery in Midleton will take us right into the heart of the cherished whiskey-making tradition.

Departing from the pier our coach will take us on a short journey of approximately 30 minutes to the village of San Felipe. Located by the sea, the village offers incredible views of the Ferrol Ria (coastline).

We leave for the pier for a panoramic tour of Ferrol, before departing to the village of Betanzos, nar La Coruña. En route we will pass by the Torre del Hercules, a Roman lighthouse dating back to the second century.

Departing from the port of Bilbao we will head towards La Guardia by coach where we will be taken on a guided walking tour. La Guardia is one of the most perfectly preserved medieval villages in Spain, and is located right in the Rioja wine country.

From the pier our tour departs for Gernika, where we will have the opportunity to admire the best of this historical capital: the Casa de Juntas (House of Parliament for Vizcaya) with its symbolic oak tree, the Church of Santa Maria, the Park of Peace and the ‘fronton’ courts, where the Basque people practise their national game of Pelota Vasca.

Our coach will take us along the main avenues of Bilbao, where we can admire the beautiful ‘Ensanche’ area – including the Albia Gardens, San Nicolás Church and the surrounding Alamedas (boulevards).
