DUBLIN, IRELAND
Our tour begins with a transfer to the River Liffey upon which Dublin was built. Here we shall board our boat for a gentle and relaxing cruise along the river, whilst listening to the Story of Dublin;

We shall travel to St Stephen’s Green and onto Dawson Street to view the Mansion, residence of Dublin’s Lord Mayor. We will also pass by Dublin Castle, City hall, Christchurch Cathedral and St Patrick’s Cathedral en route to visit the home of the world’s famous brew – Guinness.

Our tour begins heading south from Dublin to the picturesque Wicklow Mountains, where Powerscourt Gardens are situated. The 14,000-acre estate, owned by the Slazenger family, is situated on the River Dargle.

Departing from the port of Bilbao we will head towards La Guardia by coach where we will be taken on a guided walking tour. La Guardia is one of the most perfectly preserved medieval villages in Spain, and is located right in the Rioja wine country.

From the pier our tour departs for Gernika, where we will have the opportunity to admire the best of this historical capital: the Casa de Juntas (House of Parliament for Vizcaya) with its symbolic oak tree, the Church of Santa Maria, the Park of Peace and the ‘fronton’ courts, where the Basque people practise their national game of Pelota Vasca.

Our coach will take us along the main avenues of Bilbao, where we can admire the beautiful ‘Ensanche’ area – including the Albia Gardens, San Nicolás Church and the surrounding Alamedas (boulevards).

We depart our ship by coach for the Marais Poitevin, a marsh area situated north east of La Rochelle, near Niort. The waterways are sometimes likened to the bayous of Cajun country, for man hardly appears to have made an impact on the landscape.

Arriving in the centre of La Rochelle, we shall enjoy a tour of this seaboard town. We will view the old port with its three towers – Tour de la Lanterne, Tour de la Chaîne and Tour St Nicolas.

Belle-ile-en-Mer is the largest of the Breton islands (20km long and 10km wide). Many valleys, which cut deeply into high rocks and end as beached or picturesque harbours cross it.
