Enjoy a comprehensive look at ‘Wonderful, Wonderful Copenhagen’, as the song goes, by land and water.
COPENHAGEN, DENMARK
Copenhagen, which was proclaimed as the national capital in 1417, has a long history as the ‘Royal’ city of Denmark. The location of the city, at the mouth of the Baltic and astride the trade routes between continental Europe and Scandinavia, made it the obvious choice for the Danish Monarchs, who once reigned over large parts of Sweden and Norway.

Copenhagen, Denmark
This scenic tour is ideal for those passengers who have been to Copenhagen before, as it takes us away from the city, to experience some of the more rural Danish charm.
GOTHENBURG, SWEDEN
The Gothenburg that we know today was inaugurated as a town in 1621, after King Gustav II Adolf, tiring of Danish Raids, gave the order to build a strong fortress to secure Sweden’s only western port. Gothenburg grew rapidly into the trading and maritime city envisaged by the King, and during the 18th century, the East India Trading Company became Sweden’s first international trading company.
Continuing our coach journey, we shall travel 40 kilometres (25 miles) south of Gothenburg, where, on a peninsula, we find one of Sweden's largest attractions – the beautiful Tjolöholm manor house.

We travel here by coach with an English-speaking guide. Upon arrival in Lübeck – about 20 kilometres (12 miles) from Travemünde – we begin our sightseeing tour with a short orientation drive. We will pass Lübeck’s landmark, the twin-towered Holsten Gate, part of the old defence wall system, and see the impressive, centuries old salt warehouses – source of the town’s importance and prosperity dating back to the Middle Ages.
