We can see City Hall, elegant in its classical lines and its glistening limestone, the fluted columns of the Savings Bank, the modern lines of the College of Commerce and Morrison’s Island.

Departing from Cobh, we will travel westwards towards Killarney. Leaving Cork City behind, we pass through the busy market town of Macroom, the largest town in the Lee Valley and the economic centre of mid Cork. Admiral Sir William Penn, whose son founded Pennsylvania, once owned Macroom Castle, which dominates the centre of the town.
