The Rhum Runner

A short walk from the port gate, the Rhum Runner waits at the jetty. To the sound of a steel band we are greeted by a smiling crew waiting to serve us with ice-cold rum punches. Once onboard we loop around the Carenage, St George’s inner harbour, before proceeding along the scenic coastline, hugging the shore. We shall stop at Morne Rouge Beach. -
Island Drive - East Coast

From the pier, we drive through the quaint capital of St George’s, perhaps the most appealing city in the entire Caribbean. Founded in the early 18th century by the French, St George’s still possesses something of the character of a French town, particularly in the red-tiled roofs and pastel colours of its traditional architecture. We pass the ruins of Government House through St Paul’s, then travel to the parish of St David’s, where plantations of cocoa and spices can be seen. -

Cricket Legends

Departing from the quayside, we shall be driven to the Antigua Recreation Ground – home of the four existing cricket world records – for a guided tour of the ground. Known locally as the ARG, the ground became cricket’s 52nd Test Venue in 1980/1 when it hosted England in a test match marked by a century from the island’s most famous sporting son, Sir Vivian Richards. Despite the relatively small size of Antigua, with just a population of approximately 70,000, crowds at the ARG are both extremely knowledgeable and fanatical in their passion for the most famous of the Caribbean sports! -

Made popular by the great Admiral Lord Horatio Nelson, who was stationed there during the mid-17th century, it is the only remaining Georgian naval shipyard in operation. Now, refurbished as a colonial village, it is a wonderful mixture of period English architecture & Caribbean-style elegance. -

Curacao See & Sea
WILLEMSTAD, CURACAO
By coach we will travel to the boarding place of the Seaworld Explorer – a state-of-the-art semi-submarine originally developed for use on the Great Barrier Reef. The vessel does not submerge, but we descend into the hull of this cruising underwater observatory, one-and-a-half metres (five feet) below the surface of the water, to watch sealife through the clear glass windows.

Departing from the quayside, our tour coach will drive past the salt flats and flamingos before proceeding to the spectacular Hato Caves – a dramatic collection of grottoes filled with stalactites, stalagmites and crystal clear pools, all of which have been centuries in the making.
