We will learn about village life in the days of the collective farm, and before, and how it has changed since Lithuania regained its independence in 1990.The tour will continue to the house of a well-known local artist and jeweller – Vytautas Ka.

Firstly, we shall visit one of the palaces in Sanssouci gardens. The New Palace used to be the guest house of the Prussian kings, and was constructed under Frederic II, 20 years later then Sanssouci. We will see the hall of precious stones and the largest marble dance hall in any European palace.

Arriving in Rostock we will commence a city tour which concentrates on the centre with its centuries old red brick architecture. As the roads in the centre are very narrow and partly closed off to traffic, our visit to Rostock is conducted as a guided walking tour.

Close to the Minster is the train station, from where we will enjoy a ride on the historic Molli narrow gauge steam train. The journey (which will last approximately 30 minutes) will be in classic carriages pulled by an antique locomotive.

We start with a drive through the cultural centre of Tallinn. We will catch a glimpse of the medieval city wall that encompasses the Old Town. Admiring the panorama of the Upper Town and modern residential areas, we make our way to the Open Air Museum of Rocca al Mare.

Departing from the harbour, we travel through Tallinn’s cultural heart towards Toompea (Cathedral Hill). We shall stop at the foot of the medieval tower named Pikk (or Tall) Hermann, which stands guard over the national parliament in this, Estonia's capital.

This scenic tour is ideal for those passengers who have been to Copenhagen before, as it takes us away from the city, to experience some of the more rural Danish charm. We shall travel approximately 12 kilometres (7½ miles) to Dragør – one of Denmark's oldest and quaintest fishing villages.

Entering the Palace we will ascend the grand staircase to the staterooms on the first floor. The white-on-white ornamentation is broken only by crimson curtains and blue oriental vases on the walls. The view of the interior before us, of a seemingly interminable succession of staterooms, gives the impression of a golden corridor.

During our visit to the Catherine Palace, we shall see the famous Amber Room. King Friedrich Wilhelm presented the original amber wall panels to Peter the Great in 1717.
