PORTREE, ISLE OF SKYE
Our tour commences with a journey across the wonderful landscape to the north of the island. The road weaves its way around Loch Snizort before arriving at Dunvegan Castle – stronghold of the Chiefs of MacLeod for nearly 800 years, and still their home.

Leaving Portree we follow the coast of this hilly peninsula, passing through several little villages, where sheep and cattle roam the land. As we reach the exposed northerly tip of the island, we will stop at the Museum of Island Life, for a chance to see what life on Skye was like a century ago.

Our tour begins with a transfer to the River Liffey upon which Dublin was built. Here we shall board our boat for a gentle and relaxing cruise along the river, whilst listening to the Story of Dublin;

Departing from Cobh we shall travel towards the city of Cork. Before reaching the city, we will turn in a northerly direction through the towns of Fermoy and Mallow before entering the picturesque county that is Tipperary.

After a short drive through the rolling countryside we will arrive at the Imperial Hotel and commence our walking tour from here. Leaving the South Mall – one of the most gracious streets in the city – we will cross Parnell Bridge and stop for a while to enjoy the view.

This tour is designed for nature lovers, as it takes place in the vicinity of the Cape of La Hague – the rugged countryside west of Cherbourg. We shall have chance to admire the beauty of this area that is dominated by granite rocks and moorlands.

We will first visit the world-famous Queen Mathilda Tapestry, also known as the Bayeux Tapestry, displayed in an impressive 18th-century building, which was a seminary until 1970. This incredible piece of Norman art tells the story of the Conquest of England, culminating with the Battle of Hastings, in 1066.

Following a drive from Honfleur through the heart of the Normandy countryside, we will reach the village of Le Breuil En Auge, where we shall visit the traditional distillery ‘Le Chateau du Breuil’.

Departing from the pier, a short drive north takes us to the ancient Royal Burgh of Tain for a tour of the Glenmorangie Distillery. ‘Glenmorangie’ in Gaelic means ‘glen of tranquillity’ – an appropriate description for its quiet and scenic location.
