TOBERMORY, ISLE OF MULL
Heading south towards Duart Castle, the drive is breathtaking as we skirt the east coast of Mull with views across the Sound of Mull to the Morvern Peninsula. Duart Castle is perched on a rocky promontory called Dubh Ard, the Gaelic for Black point, and dominates the surrounding area.

This tour takes us to the north west of Mull, with gently undulating countryside, providing some of the most beguiling scenery on the island. Heading west out of Tobermory along a winding road we reach the village of Dervaig, which nestles beside narrow Loch Chumhainn.

Leaving Tobermory, our coach will take us on a scenic journey south to Salen, before branching off on the Western coastal road to Loch Scriain and on to Fionnphort. Here we board the ferry on foot to enjoy the short (ten minute) journey across to the tiny Isle of Iona.

Our tour will set out from the colourful little picture postcard town of Tobermory. Heading south towards Torosay Castle, the drive is breathtaking as we skirt the east coast of Mull with views across the Sound of Mull to the Morvern Peninsula.

Leaving the harbour we shall follow the coastline before heading inland to arrive at the city’s municipal conservation area of Heidmörk. The surrounding lava fields, craters and imposing mountain ranges bear witness to the country’s fiery origins.

As we approach the city we will notice the clean lines of modern buildings and fresh bright colours, with the number of traditional buildings increasing as we get closer to the old town centre. Our tour starts with a drive through the city’s main recreational and sports area of Laugardalur.

In 4x4 vehicles, especially modified for the purpose of traversing Iceland’s varied terrain, we travel over the lava plateau Hellisheidi and proceed via the southern coastal lowlands, to the greenhouse village Hveragerdi.
