Cruise Highlights (includes optional tours): Join us in Cape Town for this World Cruise on board Black Watch and we promise you a full two months of adventure in 2013!
This South African, Indian and Middle Eastern 'Odyssey' takes in some fabulous destinations: we cruise South Africa's scenic coastline, from Cape Town and Mossel Bay to Durban, before cruising on to Mauritius, the Maldives and Indian Subcontinent.
If the waterways of Cochin and stunning Gateway of India in Mumbai are not awe-inspiring enough, our Middle East cruise sector offers more historic insight: view the Islamic artefacts in Jordan's Aqaba Castle, the archaeological wonders of Alexandria, and tour the ancient Greek City of Ephesus (from Kusadasi in Turkey).
The vibrant culture of Athens, the coral formations off Malta and the gardens of Seville, complete this world cruise voyage of a lifetime before we return to Southampton.

Mumbai is a cluster of seven islands and was first home to the Koli fishing folk, who still occupy parts of the city shoreline today. Mumbai, the local name for Bombay was derived from Mumba or Maha-Amba – the name of the Hindu goddess ‘Mumbadevi’ and ‘Aai’ – Mother in the local Marathi language. The islands were ruled by a succession of Hindu dynasties, invaded by Muslims in the 14th century and then ceded to Portugal by the Sultan of Gujarat in 1534. The Portuguese called it Bom Baim (Good Bay) and set up a trade centre. The Portuguese did little to develop them before the major island of the group was included in Catherine of Braganza’s dowry where she married England’s Charles II in 1661.
