LANZAROTE, CANARY ISLANDS
The northern part of Lanzarote has some exceptional examples of how the volcanic eruptions affect the landscape and life on the island.
LANZAROTE, CANARY ISLANDS
Departing the quayside, we head south-west, passing the picturesque villages of Uga and Yaiza, before taking a camel ride along the outskirts of the National Park of Timanfaya, more commonly known as the Fire Mountains. The camels will take us for an approximate 30-minute ride (optional) along the coloured hills of the volcanic mountains.
PUERTO DEL ROSARIO,FUERTEVENTURA
We will visit Casa Santa Maria, a typical old Canary house, which has been completely restored and provides an insight into Fuerteventura’s past.
FUNCHAL, MADEIRA
After crossing Paul da Serra, we reach Porto Moniz – the most northwesterly point of the island and possibly the most spectacular – which is well known for its volcanic swimming pools.FUNCHAL, MADEIRA
This tour allows us to discover the natural beauty of the island. We begin from Vale Paraiso, where we will walk along the levada – a traditional manmade irrigation system ideal for walkers. The first levadas date back to the 15th century, and were constructed by workers who were often suspended from baskets carving through sheer cliff faces. The whole network is approximately 100 kilometres (62 miles) long. Some people believe that parts of the network were in place before any kind of road system.
FUNCHAL, MADEIRA
Enjoy one of the most beautiful collections of native plants from Macronesia, as well as other varieties from Cape Verde, the Azores and the Canary Islands.
FUNCHAL, MADEIRA
Our next point of call is Cabo Girão – the highest sea-cliff in Europe and the second highest in the world.
FUNCHAL, MADEIRA
Our next visit is to Eira do Serrado, where the viewpoint 1,094 metres (3,500 feet) high overlooks the valley of Curral das Freiras (the Nun’s Valley) – a settlement that grew after the 16th century, when Madeira was attacked by French pirates.FUNCHAL, MADEIRA
Departing from the pier we shall travel to the belvedere of Eira do Serrado, where we will be invited to gaze upon the Curral das Freiras Valley (Nun’s Valley). It is located within a deep valley which has one of the island’s most spectacular landscapes, where dizzying views will take our breath away.FUNCHAL, MADEIRA
After viewing the 1917 Peace Monument, we then travel to Pico do Areeiro, the second highest peak on the island, at 1,810 metres (5,940 feet), with impressive gorges, deep valleys, grandiose mountains and imposing cliffs.
FUNCHAL, MADEIRA
We will travel to Estreito de Camara de Lobos, Jardim da Serra which has a magnificent view of the Nun’s Valley and the famous resting place of Boca dos Namoradas – The Lovers Nest.FUNCHAL, MADEIRA
We will walk through the cultivated terraces along a flower lined levada which winds its way along the escarpment.
FUNCHAL, MADEIRA
Departing from the pier our tour will begin at the old part of the city where we will all take the cable chair to Monte, a village in the suburbs of Funchal well known fir its mild climate and lush vegetations.
FUNCHAL, MADEIRA
Departing from the pier we will take the highway to the village of Machico, probably the most historically interesting town on the island. Machico was the landing point of the first discoverers of Madeira and therefore we will find some beautiful old buildings including the oldest church on the island. “Capela de Nossa Senhora dos Milagres” was built in 1425 and has some beautiful paintings and tile works inside. The baroque table is sculpted in golden wood and sits in the main chapel – the most interesting 17th century object. Machico also has a romantic history if we believe in legends. The legend says that two lovers, Machim and d’Arfet, ran away from England for love and came ashore here after a storm that wrecked their ship.
FUNCHAL, MADEIRA
Leaving the pier by jeep our tour will take us inland to one of the most beautiful forests areas of the island, passing through typical streets which are mainly used to transport agricultural goods that supply the population living in these rural areas.
FUNCHAL, MADEIRA
Departing from the pier in the direction of the centre of Funchal we will find the main monuments, museums, churches, forts and buildings of public interest. We will start with a visit to the Cathedral, a national monument built by Gil Enes in Manueline style and was the first Episcopal cathedral in Portuguese overseas territories due to its material and artictic grandiosity.
LA CORUNA, SPAIN
From the pier we board our awaiting coach to begin our scenic tour of La Coruña, passing by the Gardens of Los Cantones, which were built on reclaimed land. As we pass, we should watch out for the galleries – houses whose windows reflect sunlight and façades were built by fisherman out of wood and glass.
LA CORUNA, SPAIN
Departing the quayside, we drive towards the village of Betanzos, the Roman village that emerged from old Castros. Upon arrival, we proceed to the Garden of Pasatiempo. This fine work of art by the García Naveira brothers materialises their impressions of their abundant travels.

Approximately 43 percent of the territory here is protected and the flora of the Canary Islands is unique in the world, since many of these species, now extinct in their places of origin, survive here as living relics of earlier geological periods.
LAS PALMAS, GRAN CANARIA
The remarkable Palmitos Nature Park, set in a desert-like canyon a few miles from Maspalomas, should not be missed by anyone visiting Gran Canaria. Its wonderfully laid out forests, paths and ponds are home to an amazing collection of brilliantly-coloured tropical birds and plants.
