Lying beside the pretty, sandy crescent of the Bay of Skaill, this Stone Age settlement lay buried under sand for thousands of years, until it was suddenly revealed during a fierce storm in 1850.

    Featuring a large number of cabins and suites with balconies, Black Watch can accommodate up to 804 passengers. Offering many traditional cruising features, its décor will undergo a major refurbishment of the public areas in December 2009; including a new casual dining area, which will replace the current Garden Cafe and become The Braemar Garden. New soft furnishings will also be added to the Neptune Lounge, Piper's Bar, Glentanar Restaurant and Observatory Lounge.
