Hamburg, Germany
This delightful tour starts with sightseeing en route – passing Hamburg's Freeport area with its old warehouse city. During the approximate 75 minute drive on the Autobahn to Lübeck, the typical northern German flatland countryside passes by.
Upon arrival in the Hanseatic City of Lübeck, we begin our tour of the city with a short orientation drive, passing Lübeck's landmark – the twin towered Holsten Gate, part of the old walled defence – and see the impressive centuries old salt warehouses – source of Lübeck's importance and prosperity dating back to the Middle Ages and the Hanseatic League. To protect Lübeck's beautiful and unique medieval town centre from deterioration, the whole centre is closed off to traffic. Therefore, we leave our coach to undertake a guided walking tour.
