Departing from the quayside in our landrover-style jeeps, our tour will take us inland to one of the most beautiful forest areas of the island, passing through typical streets, which are mainly used to transport agricultural goods that supply the population living in these rural areas.

Leaving the pier, we drive through the city of Funchal for a brief sightseeing tour before continuing to Pico dos Barcelos. Here we can admire the breathtaking panoramic views over the city.

Our bicycle tour will offer us a fun way to explore the city of Funchal as we wind our way through the interesting streets.

Departing the pier by coach, we shall travel by highway to the village of Machico, the most historical and interesting town on the island! Machico was the landing point of the first discoverers of Madeira, and as such we will discover some beautiful old buildings including the oldest church on the island.

Departing from the pier, we begin our drive towards Pico da Torre, a viewpoint over the small fishing village of Câmara de Lobos. We shall make a brief photo stop at the viewpoint before continuing.

Set within the magnificent Palheiro Estate and lying adjacent to the 5 * Madeira Island Hotel Casa Velha do Palheiro – the 18-hole, par 72 Championship golf course meanders through a pristine environment of maritime pine and botanical woodland embroidered with lush, sub-tropical vegetation.

Departing from the quayside we will have a short transfer to the cable car station. On a clear day we will have magnificent views of the madeiran landscape as we travel by cable car to the Monte Tropical gardens!

Dakar is a city of contrast, both ancient and modern. Defined as the ‘Gateway of Africa’, the capital city of Senegal is a peninsula jutting out into the Atlantic Ocean.

Goree Island was the first white settlement in West Africa, and for over 300 years was the most important slave transit point. From here, over 20 million Africans were transported to the ‘New World’. Declared a World Heritage Site, its red or yellow colonial houses vividly recall the past centuries.

Bandia Wildlife Reserve was created in 1990, and was the first private reserve in Senegal. Upon arrival here, we embark on an approximate two-hour jeep safari of the reserve, during which time – if we are lucky – we may have the opportunity to spot wild animals such as giraffes, rhinoceros, hippos, monkeys, buffalos, warthogs and colourful birds.

Praia was once a major slave-trading post, which it still retains today with cobbled lanes and stone buildings in the shadow of its old 15th century fortress and cathedral.

Departing from the quayside we will start our walking tour with a pleasant guided walk through the city, enjoying Mindelo’s colonial architecture, full with Portuguese and British influences.

The Cape Verde Islands emerged from a colonial culture - aspects of this culture are clearly seen on this tour, from its mixed population, buildings, monuments and traditions.

Povoação Village is located in one of the least populated parts of the island. Most of the houses here are built with stone and concrete, several houses are built with stone and wood and a few homes are still made of mud and brick.

From Teguise our tour will continue along dirt tracks, crossing the centre of the island passing by Famara beach. We will then head towards Timanfaya National Park, which stretches from the edge of Timanfaya right down to La Geria and is home to some fascinating scenery.

Departing from the quayside, we will have an approximate 20-minute drive to reach Puerto del Carmen, the main and first tourist resort on the Island.

This takes oasis to another extreme, by creating a lush green golf course on an island that is really nothing but volcanic rock! Green fairways fringed by palm trees lead to well manicured greens.
