St Mary's, Isles of Scilly
The Isles of Scilly form an archipelago of islands off the south-western tip of the UK.
Traditionally administered as part of the county of Cornwall, the islands are designated the Isles of Scilly Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty. There are six inhabited islands and many other rocky islets, which lie almost 30 miles off Land's End. Famous for its tourism, the islands all but shut down in the winter months, except for October when many birdwatchers arrive. The Isles of Scilly are usually the first landing point for many migrant and rare birds, which like to make landfall before continuing their journeys.
