Over the years it has survived earthquakes and volcanic eruptions, its indomitable spirit reflected in the many sumptuous noble Baroque buildings - notable among them, the Cathedral and Castello Ursino - and monumental streets of great overall harmony. Visit the Bellini Museum (the composer was born here); travel further afield to the fashionable resort of Taormina; or take a cable-car ride up to the hissing craters of Mount Etna!
