Corfu Town, Corfu

Corfu Town, Corfu

Greenest of the Greek islands, Corfu overflows with vistas of citrus and olive groves and stands of cypresses - and a 136-mile coastline of lovely beaches and solitary coves washed by a warm Ionian Sea.

The island has seen many masters in its time - Roman, Byzantine, Venetian, French, and British overtones echo amid the wide avenues, narrow flagstone alleys, open squares, ancient churches and fortresses of historic Corfu Town. Shop for jewellery bargains - or visit famous Mouse Island at Kanoni or the beach and monastery at Pelaeokastritsa.
