You will depart by mini coach and stop at two amazing viewpoints for some beautiful views of the lovely coastal towns of San Sebastian and Degollade de Peraza. Continuing, you will arrive at the island’s famous Hotel Jardin Tecina, owned by Olsen family for over 100 years.

Located on a cliff looking out to the Atlantic Ocean and overlooking the neighbouring island of Tenerife with its majestic Mount Teide, the hotel is surrounded by a lush garden of over 70, 000 square metres housing more than 50 species of plants and flowers from all corners of the world – all of which create a wonderful paradise. You will receive a guided walking tour of the hotel and gardens including a step back in time in the “Cave for 2”. Learn about Thomas Olsen and his story of the Olsen Family on the Island. Brunch will be served at the end of your visit, so you can relax and enjoy the atmosphere of one of the most magical corners of La Gomera.

Set on a cliff top just 500 metres above Playa de Santiago and commanding breathtaking views over the ocean, the Jardin Tecina offers a unique atmosphere and ambience. This peaceful, Canarian village-style hotel is laid out in beautiful grounds, with large subtropical gardens and impressive floral displays.

Travelling towards the National Park of Garajonay, a stop will be made at a viewpoint overlooking the very typical village of Hermigua, before you proceed in a southerly direction into the breathtaking park. During your descent towards the coastline, you pass through the village of Alajero before arriving at the Jardín Tecina Hotel. The hotel is beautifully situated on the hillside above the cliffs. Upon arrival, refreshments will be served on the lovely terrace or in one of the lounges. After a brief rest, you set off on a short walk through the hotel grounds. You will no doubt be impressed by the abundance of colourful flowers and plants, which seem like an oasis in this otherwise rocky and arid landscape.

On your return to San Sebastian (time permitting) a stop will be made on the hillside above the capital, for an opportunity to take a photo of your ship and San Sebastian – a lasting memory of your trip around this beautiful island.

Discover where Columbus prepared his ships with water and food supplies, and where the church of La Asunción stands.

Travel in the direction of Degollada Peraza, stopping en route for a photo opportunity at the viewpoint known as ‘Los Roques de Agando’, an impressive rock formation. You continue in the direction of Chipude Village, and then afterwards to El Cercado. It is famous for its pottery, which is made without a pottery wheel – a tradition passed from one generation to another. You should have time to visit the pottery artisans, before enjoying an aperitif of some local Canarian dishes, such as Almogrote (a kind of cheese pate with red pepper), Spanish omelette and chickpeas in sauce, figs and wine.

The legendary valleys of La Gomera have become a must. You can expect terraced landscape, numerous palm trees and colourful gardens that give the valleys a unique flair.

Travel to Degollada de Peraza, home to boast a barren landscape. Reaching a height of 600 metres, you will be able to see the changes in vegetation caused by the horizontal rain. Arriving at Degollada de Peraza, discover more about the third governor of the before you continue to Roque de Agando, to discover an eroded volcanic chimney.

Travelling on to the centre of the island, spend time admiring the 3.986 hectares of laurisilva, fayal, brezal and aceviño forests all endemic varieties to the island. Your next stop will be in La Laguna Grande where you will have some free time to explore independently. From here you travel towards the incredible ‘Valley of the Great King’, home of the island’s last ‘Guanche’ Chieftain. Learn about the conquest to La Gomera at the beginning of the 15th century and marvel at the dominating surroundings of the Curtain Mountains a fantastic setting for lunch.

Declared a National Park in 1981, Garajonay became a World Heritage Site in 1986, and is home to a wide range of flora and fauna, unique to the Canary Islands. The peaks of the park are usually covered by humid fog, whilst the forest lies beneath.

During your hike, you pass moss-grown laurel and heather trees as you trek through the oldest part of the tropical mountain forest. Once you’ve left the National Park, you enjoy the last part of your hike, passing cultivated terrace fields and fruit groves on your way to Arure.
