Savour a ‘Taste of Ulvik’. Hardanger is often called ‘The Orchard of Norway’ and on this tour you will visit two family-run farms, situated beside the Hardangerfjord.

Ulvik is one of Norway’s villages where tourism has been a permanent fixture of daily life for more than 150 years. The warm summers, high water temperature, tranquillity and lush nature have attracted holidaymakers here for generations and provide ideal growing conditions for the orchards surrounding the area. The village is well-known for its farmland and fruit groves, and spectacular blossom displays in spring.

Leaving the pier in Ulvik, a short drive will take you to Syse Gard, where all of the produce is made on site. Here you will gain an insight into life on the farm through the seasons, the production processes, and the history of the farm. Weather permitting, enjoy a walk through the orchards and a visit to the old smokehouse. Sample some of the products such as apple juice, meats and fruits of the season; and browse the farm shop.

Continue your tour with a short transfer to the Lekve juice and cider farm. Here, you will enjoy a guided tour, followed by a presentation of local juice, cider and apple brandy. These first class drinks are produced using traditional recipes with modern equipment.

All too soon, it will be time to make the return journey back to your awaiting ship, travelling through the beautiful fjordland scenery.
