The city of Haifa is said to be one of the prettiest in Israel, and is surrounded by nature sites, churches and mosques, mountains and sea.

The Bahai Gardens here are not to be missed when on your cruise holiday. The site is where members of the Bahai faith have established their shrine – this building is stunning, with a golden dome, marbled walls and nine sides representing the nine major religions in the world. It is surrounded by several other unique buildings, and set amongst some of the most spectacular gardens in the world, which are designed in nine concentric circles and look like waves extending out from the shrine at the centre.

Discover the city of Haifa, the world centre for the Baha'i faith, and home to one of the most striking landmarks, the gleaming golden dome of the Baha'i Shrine, set amidst beautiful circular grass terraces that fill the mountain slope from top to bottom.

You begin with a drive that will take you via Mount Carmel for a panoramic view over Haifa Bay and the entire north of Israel, stop at the observation point next to the Monastery in Stella Maris to capture the picturesque views on film.

Continuing, you arrive at Baha’i gardens to view the largest hanging gardens in the world! Spend time at the immaculate Baha'i Gardens, completed in 2001, which are a tranquil memorial to the founders of the Baha'i Faith. Pilgrims come to Haifa from all parts of the world to pay homage to the first leaders of their religion, which emphasises unity across cultures and religions.

Rejoining your coach, travel to the bay of Acre, the oldest city in the northern region. Here, 5,000 years of recorded history will unfold before your eyes as you explore the narrow passageways and the present day town. Built in the 18th century on the 12th century crusader city, Acre is home to many surprises including a series of large interconnecting rooms that form an underground citadel. Enjoy time to visit the newly excavated Crusader’s Halls and the Templars Tunnel, as well as the port and the sea walls.

Departing Haifa you ascend Mount Carmel for a breathtaking view of Haifa Bay, the golden dome of Haifa's Baha'i Shrine and Acre in the distance.

Continue along the ancient Via Maris until you reach Caesarea, where you will visit the ancient port city built by Herod the Great on the ruins of an ancient anchorage known as Stratton's tower.

He named it Caesarea in honour of his Roman patron, Augustus Caesar. Caesarea became an important Christian centre that was conquered on several occasions until it was destroyed at the end of the thirteenth century. Among the magnificent array of archaeological finds at the site are restored Crusaders fortifications, a Byzantine street and a Roman Theatre.

A walk among the ruins cannot be complete without observing the splendour displayed in the Travel through Time displays that recreate a city being reawakened in front of your eyes. Continue to the Tower of Time, where you can take a virtual tour of the city, enter buildings and visit the streets, even participate in various activities such as horse racing in the hippodrome, performances in the theatre, roaming around the market booths, and receiving ships arriving at the port, all of which showcase Caesarea's importance throughout the ages.

Explore the captivating scenery and discover the historic sites, where it is believed Jesus preached and performed his miracles, on a full day tour to Nazareth.

Your drive will firstly see you ascending the Southern Golan Heights, which affords a spectacular vista of the Sea of Galilee. You will drive along the shores before boarding a traditional wooden boat for an approximate 2 hour journey across the calming waters of Galilee.

Next you journey to Nazareth, the birthplace of Jesus, where upon arrival; you visit the Basilica of the Annunciation, one of Christendom's most revered shrines and the largest church in the Middle East. The Basilica was built on the same site where the Archangel Gabriel revealed to Mary that she would be the mother of the Messiah. Admire the altar and a remarkable 170-foot high cupola that rises high above the upper church.

From here, take a stroll through the bazaar and past Mary's well, a white stone fountain that serves as a shrine commemorating the Virgin Mary. The shrine is located at the site of an ancient underground spring where it is believed Jesus and his mother came to draw water.
