Introduction to Cruising Sound of Raasay
This idyllic stretch of water divides the picturesque islands of Raasay and Skye and - while it narrows to just under half a mile wide in some places – is one of Britain’s deepest channels.
It’s is also one of Britain’s most beautiful waterways and is lined by rolling hills and charming, historic buildings of delightful Highland villages that are dotted along the shore. The sound is also a haven for various land and water based fauna, including a number of fern species, grey seals, basking sharks, dolphins, porpoises and Minke whales.
