Sailing from Newcastle you’ll head north to Scotland and the picturesque town of Oban. Here you'll be ideally placed for tours to Glen Nevis, where iconic scenes from Braveheart and Highlander were filmed; Glencoe, the location of James Bond’s family home – Skyfall Lodge – in 2012 epic Skyfall; and the Glenfinnan Viaduct, which the famous Hogwarts Express passes over in Harry Potter. After your day-long call into Oban, you will then enjoy scenic cruising past Duart Castle – which featured in Entrapment starring Sir Sean Connery and Catherine Zeta-Jones – and along the beautiful Firth of Lorn before sailing to the ‘Emerald Isle’.
Make the most of a day in beautiful Belfast to go in search of sites which feature in the hit TV series Game of Thrones, such as the Castle Ward Estate – known to many as ‘Winterfell’ – and Audley’s Castle where several scenes from the show were filmed. Alternatively, you could join a tour to marvel at the UNESCO-listed Giant’s Causeway. Calling into Dublin next, you can visit Trinity College from Educating Rita; see Kilmainham Jail, the prison in 1969’s The Italian Job; or perhaps take in the famous attractions of Eire’s capital, including the Guinness Storehouse and St Patrick’s Cathedral. Returning to England, discover picturesque locations which feature in Winston Graham's Poldark novels and the hit BBC tv series on a trip from Falmouth, which is also perfectly placed for tours to the remarkable Eden Project – Gustav Graves' diamond mine in 2002's Die Another Day. You'll also visit pretty Portland from where you can take a short journey to Lyme Regis and West Bay, the setting of ITV’s popular Broadchurch series.
Our Little Skippers Club will be available on this sailing.
Single supplement offers are available on selected grades on this sailing, please call for details
