After embarking the ship in Greenock you’ll spend just two days at sea before stepping ashore in Olden. Here you could join an exciting trek through the Briksdalen Valley to see the beautiful Briksdal Glacier – an arm of the Jostedalsbreen, Europe’s largest inland glacier. An unforgettable evening of scenic cruising follows, sailing along the Nordfjord and passing the towering Hornelen sea cliff. In Flåm, ride the famous Flåmsbana Railway and see the cascading Kjosfossen Waterfall up-close, or kayak on the glassy waters of Aurlandsfjord before sailing along the Nærøyfjord. The incredible scenery of this UNESCO-listed passage through some of the most dramatic landscapes in Europe has to be seen to be believed, and you’ll have unspoilt views from on board Boudicca.
Beautiful Bergen is your final Norwegian call. Be sure to wander around the charming, UNESCO-listed Bryggen Wharf to admire the colourful wooden structures; and ride the funicular up Mount Fløyen for superb views. You could also see several of Edvard Munch’s works at the fantastic Bergen Art Museum; or visit the Troldhaugen – the former home of Edvard Grieg – which today is an interesting museum dedicated to the great composer. En route back to Greenock you will also enjoy a call into Kirkwall, the capital of Scotland’s picturesque Orkney Islands. Explore the town’s rugged surroundings in search of seabirds and other native fauna; or perhaps visit Skara Brae, the best-preserved Neolithic village in Northern Europe – a wonderful conclusion to this scenic adventure.
