If you need to keep in touch with home, just swipe your ID card through the keyboard reader which makes a connection to the internet.

Users can browse the internet freely and e-mail is available via web-based e-mail accounts. Charges are based on the amount of information you download at any one time so for example a website with a large amount of content such as the BBC or similar will cost more to view than a simple webmail provider.

All charges are summarised at the end of each session and posted directly to your on board account.
