I am going on a cruise. Can family & friends track our progress?

Your friends and family can track the progress of your cruise by viewing the ship locator on our website. This provides a real time view of where your cruise ship is located

What is there to do on a Fred. Olsen cruise?

On a Fred. Olsen cruise, you can do as much or as little as you like, the choice is yours.

At what point on our cruise will the safety drill be undertaken?

For your safety before we sail we have to carry out a passenger muster drill. This ensures that you are fully aware of all the on board safety and emergency procedures. This includes fitting your life jacket and finding your muster point.

I like to read on my cruise, do you have a library where I can borrow books?

All four of our cruise ships have a well-appointed library on board offering a wide variety of books, including some large print books. There is also a selection of board games for use during your cruise holiday. Audio books are also available, but please remember to bring your own CD player.

I have lost my Ocean’s Membership number – how can I find out what it is?

If you have misplaced your Oceans membership number do not worry. There are several ways in which you can obtain your Oceans number:

Which items are prohibited from bringing on board?

To ensure a safe and secure environment for our guests and crew, there are strict regulations regarding items that may be considered to be an offensive weapon (in particular knives, including skean-dhu's with a blade over 7cm).

My itinerary times are listed as am or pm, why aren't they more specific?

Precise timings for your stay in port vary from place to place and from sailing to sailing. Arrival and departure times can change as your cruise progresses, so we display them as approximate periods rather than exact times. These are as follows:

Period                      Arrive or Depart from
early am                   05:00 - 09:59
late am                     10:00 - 11:59
early pm                   12:00 - 15:59
late pm                     16:00 - 19:59
late night                  20:00 onwards

Where is the ship docking at ports?

You will find information about the port your ship is docking at in the Daily Times once you are on board. However, if you wish to know prior to embarking on your cruise, our Guest Services Department will be able to advise you of the berth name or number, although please note this is always subject to change.

Do you provide shuttle buses in ports where it is not possible to walk to the town centre?

When your cruise ship is berthed some distance from the centre of town a shuttle bus service is often provided to assist with your visit and save you money on taxi fares. All day tickets (for which a small charge is made) can be bought from Guest Services. However, for those guests who are booked on a Freedom Fare offer, this charge is included.

Shuttle buses do not operate in ports where we feel it is easy/more economical for guests to use independent transport such as taxis, or when we are prohibited from running a service – this is particularly the case in the Caribbean.

Do you have dance hosts/hostesses on board?

We have dance hosts available to ensure that our single guests are never too long without a dance partner. On each of our cruise ships there are usually four dance hosts available.

We aim to ensure the entertainment on a Fred. Olsen cruise holiday is as memorable as the cruise destinations you'll visit.

Are bathrobes available to hire on board?

Bathrobes are provided for guests who are booked in relevant Suite grades under our Suite Dreams package.

Bathrobes are available to use on board for guests in other room grades, subject to availability. A refundable deposit is required and a charge is made to cover laundry costs.
