    TOUR C - TROLLSTIGEN - TROLLS ADVENTURE

    Excursions

    • 85 - 95
    • Approximately 8 hours

We shall drive through the town of Molde before departing by ferry to cross the Romsdalfjord. The scenery is beautiful. We continue by coach across the Orskog Mountain Plateau to the Storfjord. We pass small villages such as Stordal, known for its furniture making, and we will stop to visit the Rose church. After this stop we continue to the fertile village of Valldal, known for its strawberry production. At Gudbrandsjuvet, a steep gorge with a foaming river at the bottom, we have another photo stop.

We continue towards the Trollstigen Mountain Plateau where we will stop for lunch. It is possible to walk to a nearby viewpoint. Driving down the Troll Road with its renowned eleven hairpin bends, we shall see the beautiful fjord and mountain scenery. This road is an impressive work of engineering. Reaching the valley floor we will be in green fertile land – a sharp contrast to the landscape we have just travelled through. A stop is made at the Troll Wall viewpoint where we will see the highest vertical rock face in Europe.

We will then rejoin our awaiting ship.

TOUR NOTES: This tour involves walking at the lunch venue, with optional walking at the various photo stops. At Gudbrandsjuvet there are quite steep paths for those who want to admire the foaming river. The walk to the viewpoint at Trollstigen is also optional. The tour can still be enjoyed if viewing the sights from the coach. Please note this tour includes a journey with hairpin bends, therefore it may not be suitable for guests who suffer from vertigo.
