From Olden we travel through Stryn, the administrative centre of the area, and follow the salmon rich Stryn River. We drive up to the crystal clear Stryn Lake, where we shall visit the Jostedal Glacier National Park Centre. At the centre a film is screened, showing the nature of the district, and there are also engaging displays about the life of the glacier. (The glacier itself is not seen on this tour.) Rejoining our coach we ascend the old, narrow Stryn Road – complete with hairpin bends – during which we will enjoy the scenic beauty of the mountains. At Hjelle Hotel – fantastically situated overlooking the fjord – refreshments will be served. We then take the same route back to Olden, where our ship awaits.
This tour involves walking in the Jostedal National Park Centre (which is wheelchair accessible), and at Hjelle Hotel. Glaciers will not be seen. Please note this tour includes a journey with hairpin bends, therefore it may not be suitable for passengers who suffer from vertigo.
