Nestling in the estuary of the river Kinso in the mighty Hardangerfjord, from 900 to 1350AD Kinsarvik was a strategic port for Norway's longships.
The river valley leads to the Hardangervidda mountain plateau where the waterfalls have to be seen to be believed.
