Northern Europe
Nothing in Europe can surpass the awesome sight of the Norwegian Fjords, providing breathtaking scenery which could have been taken directly from the pages of a child‘s fairytale. Danish, Finnish, Norwegian, Swedish and Russian cities are in abundance.
For a journey almost as far north as you can go then our Spitsbergen cruises really do provide a cruise ‘to the top of the world’ where you‘ll see fabulous glaciers and wildlife including reindeer, Artic foxes and possibly even polar bears. For a cruise steeped in history then our Baltic collection offers you everything from the glories of St. Petersburg to the fairytale medieval watchtowers and turrets of Tallinn in Estonia.
The climate in Northern Europe can be unpredictable, but further north, in places such as Murmansk, The North Cape and Spitsbergen, cooler weather can be expected. Even in summer, temperatures can be around 10°C (50°F).
Winters are colder and longer, with greater snow cover than in Western Europe. It is much colder in the northeast, and summers are hottest in the southeast. Temperatures can range from 50° to 70° F (10° to 21° C).
