ANDALSNES, NORWAY
We board our coach at the quay and drive along the River Rauma, a favourite with anglers for more than a century. To our left is Mount Romsdalshorn (1,550 metres) and to our right is Trolltindane (Troll Peaks of approximately 1,800 metres).

TURKU, FINLAND
We begin our tour from the port, where the River Aura meets the sea. We will travel by coach, taking approximately 15 minutes, to the site where the Castle of Turku was initially built in 1280. A guided tour will take us through the major parts of the castle, to give us an idea of life in the 15th century.

SKJOLDEN, NORWAY
Today we will drive along the fjord of Luster and make a short stop to see the beautiful Feigumfossen waterfall. Continuing, we travel along the Romantic Road to the Urnes Stave Church, which is Norway’s oldest stave church and is included on UNESCO’s World Heritage List.

From the pier we travel by coach through the harbour area, with its quaint fish and farmers’ market. We continue past both old and modern residential districts, heading for the verdant and peaceful Mosterøy Island.

KLAIPEDA, LITHUANIA
Lapiai village of 300 inhabitants is just 30 kilometres (18½ miles) to the east of Klaipeda, in a beautiful valley. We will drive through the main street of the village and see the houses and apartments, which were built during Soviet times to house the workers of the collective farm. We will learn about village life in the days of the collective farm and how it has changed since Lithuania regained its independence in 1990.
