This tour offers us the opportunity to sample Norwegian agriculture, nature and local culture. Our trip takes us through scenic Olden Valley and ends up at Aabrekk Farm, where the lady of the house, Signe, and her husband Rune welcome us.
This tour offers us the opportunity to sample Norwegian agriculture, nature and local culture. Our trip takes us through scenic Olden Valley and ends up at Aabrekk Farm, where the lady of the house, Signe, and her husband Rune welcome us. We will learn about the farm and the production of traditional food that is made here. A mini buffet of local products will be offered, such as home made bread from the stone oven, brown goat cheese, also made on the farm, and the typical, rich Norwegian home made cakes. We can take a closer look at the farm animals, or hike into the surrounding countryside to enjoy views of the valley, its lake, glacier, waterfalls and mountains. After our interesting visit to this farm and its family, we head back to our ship in Olden.
This tour involves a little walking in and around the farm, some of which will be over uneven ground. The hike into the surrounding countryside is optional.
