Rotterdam
Much of old Rotterdam was destroyed by bombing during World War II, but modern architecture is now synonymous with this innovative city.
See the famous Erasmusbrug – nick-named “the swan” – that spans the Maas River; the innovative Cube Houses, tilted at an angle of 45 degrees to stunning effect; and the quirky square that is the Schouwburgplein. Allow time for the Boijmans-van-Beuningen Museum, Natuurmuseum, Maritiem Museum and the renowned Blijdorp Zoological Garden.

Windmills, The Hague & Delft Pottery
ROTTERDAM, NETHERLANDS
Our tour starts with a visit to the windmills of Kinderdijk - built around 1740 and now on the UNESCO World Heritage list. The village received its name supposedly because after the St Elisabeth flood in 1421 people found a crib with a baby (‘kind’) on the dike (‘dijk’).
