This tour is designed for nature lovers, as it takes place in the vicinity of the Cape of La Hague – the rugged countryside west of Cherbourg. We shall have chance to admire the beauty of this area that is dominated by granite rocks and moorlands. Our coach takes the scenic coast road via Ommonville la Petite to Port Racine, the smallest port in France. We will pass many manor houses and typical Norman villages as we head towards Goury, where our first stop will be made. We will visit the famous lifeboat Raz Blanchard, well known for her numerous rescues. Our tour then proceeds via the wild and picturesque Baie D’Ecalgrain to ‘Nez de Jobourg’ (Jobourg Nose), some of the highest cliffs in Europe, where a breathtaking panorama can be seen – including the Channel Islands, on a clear day. A stop will be made here for refreshments, before our drive resumes through the Norman countryside back to Cherbourg. A short walk is involved at Goury, approximately 10 minutes, and a further 35 minutes (approximately) at the refreshment stop and viewpoint. It is not recommended for passengers with limited mobility or in wheelchairs – however it is possible to remain on the coach if preferred.
