Sevastopol will forever be linked with its year-long seige and the tragic and ill-conceived Charge of the Light Brigade at nearby Balaclava that scarred the Crimean War.
The Panorama exhibition in the city graphically tells the tale of the Crimean War but equally fascinating is a maritime museum centred on the port's former role as base for Russia's Black Sea fleet.
