Dikili
The colourful port of Dikili is the gateway for Pergamum. The Greek Theatre in the Acropolis is unusually steep, with 80 rows of seats carved into the hillside.
The partly restored Temple of Trajan evokes the grandeur of the site under the Romans but its art treasures were moved to the Pergamum Museum in Berlin in the 19th century. The Asklepeion was the leading medical centre of the ancient world.
